Residents gathered around a massive menorah in Park Slope Saturday to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah.
Mayor Bill de Blasio climbed into a ConEdison cherry picker that hoisted him up 32 feet in the air to light the first candle with a blow torch.
It's been a tradition since 1985, and various community leaders have been invited to light candles throughout the eight days of the Jewish holiday.
The event also featured holiday treats, including latkes, gelt, dreidels and a concert by the Jewish band, Moshav.
