Mayor Bill de Blasio revealed in his daily briefing Thursday that the initial delivery of vaccine supply that was expected Friday has been delayed even further because of the storm.
The new first doses for the week are not set to arrive until Sunday.
De Blasio also announced new canvassing efforts to get more New Yorkers vaccinated. The city is deploying 250 canvassers on the ground daily, similar to the outreach done for the census.
They will focus on areas around NYCHA developments and mass vaccination sites. The goal of the effort is to answer questions and build trust around the vaccine.
