It was a busy weekend in New York City politics as Eric Adams dropped his reelection bid. Now, all eyes are now on the three top candidates - frontrunner Zohran Mamdani, Republican Curtis Sliwa and independent Andrew Cuomo.

According to the NYC Board of Elections, the deadline to remove an independent candidate's name from the ballot was May 30. Therefore, voters will still see both Jim Walden and Mayor Adams on the ballot in November.

In recent polls, Adams was trailing behind his opponents, with only 9% of voters on his side. It remains to be seen if his exit from the race will bring a boost to Cuomo’s campaign.
