The mother of a woman shot to death at J'Ouvert attended a town hall meeting on violence in Brooklyn Thursday night.
Bertina Brown, whose daughter Tiarah Poyau was shot in the face at the celebration on Labor Day, joined elected officials and community leaders at Medgar Evers College to speak out against violence.
Residents shared their thoughts on how to end gun and gang violence.
Attendees say they hope the meeting is the start of positive change in the community.
