The medical examiner's office says a 2-month-old baby was smothered to death at a Brooklyn Avenue apartment and the death has been ruled a homicide.
The Administration for Children's Services investigated Tuquan Bennett Shuler's death Monday, asking neighbors if his parents had a history of violent or unusual behavior. One neighbor says the baby's father came to him for help after discovering he was not breathing. According to the neighbor, Tuquan's father blamed the baby's mother for his death.
Neighbors tried to perform CPR on the baby, but were unsuccessful. Tuquan was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
