The 43rd Assembly District has been represented by Diana Richardson since 2015, but she's now the Brooklyn deputy borough president. So, change is coming and voters have a decision to make.
News 12 sat down with Democrat Brian Cunningham and Working Families candidate Jelanie Deshong to learn more about how they would tackle the issues facing the district. Full interviews with the candidates are below:
Republican candidate Mesidor Azor is also on the ballot, but News 12 was not able to contact him for an interview.
Early voting started Saturday and runs through next Sunday, March 20. Voters can also head to the ballots on Tuesday, March 22, when a new leader will be chosen.
