Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Scott Sincoff says clouds and fog will stick around throughout the day Tuesday, with a chance for a sprinkle or two late in the day. Rain will increase Wednesday afternoon with a small chance of some flash flooding possible across the region.

NEXT: Unsettled weather continues with mostly cloudy conditions and a chance of a sprinkle or two to round out the workweek. High temperatures cool into the 40s with more sunshine heading towards New Year's Eve!

A dense fog advisory is in effect for Litchfield and Fairfield counties until 10 a.m. Tuesday.

FORECAST:

OVERNIGHT: Clouds and fog. Lows around 40. Calm wind.

TUESDAY/FIRST DAY OF KWANZAA: Mostly cloudy with dense fog to start. A few sprinkles possible late. Highs in the 50s and lows in the 40s.

WEDNESDAY: Showers becoming heavy and steady into the afternoon and evening. Highs in the 50s.
