36ds ago- A fire weather watch is in effect on Saturday. Critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement for elevated fire weather concerns today.
- A coastal flood advisory is in effect today. 1-2 feet of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront, shorelines and low-lying communities. Minor to locally moderate coastal flooding is likely at high tide due to the influence of the full moon and onshore winds.
- It’s cold, cloudy with light winds this morning. Temperatures are in the upper 30s to low 40s.
- Today will be milder with increasing sunshine and gusty winds. Highs are in the upper 50s. Fire danger is higher this afternoon thanks to more sunshine and stronger NW winds up to 20mph.
- This weekend will be mild, bright and breezy. Fire danger will be high through Saturday. A smoky/hazy sky will move in this afternoon due to NW winds blowing over the wildfire in New Jersey. Stay up to date on the fires and air quality issues in the coming days.
- A stray shower is possible on Monday morning/afternoon. Our next chance of some beneficial rain is the end of next week. We're currently in a severe drought with water conversation/restrictions likely to be put in place for the city in the next few weeks.
- WATCHING THE TROPICS: Tropical Storm Sara will impact Honduras and the Yucatán Peninsula through early next week. Catastrophic heavy rain, mudslides and high winds are expected in Northern Honduras. There's still some uncertainty for where Tropical Storm Sara will go next and the intensity of the storm. South/ central Florida is now an area of interest for heavy rain and gusty winds into next week. Stay tuned for updates.
