Milestone: 5,000 new nurses trained by citywide nurse residency program, mayor says

Mayor Eric Adams' administration says 5,000 new registered nurses have been trained through the citywide nurse residency program since its launch in 2019.
Officials say the program offers on-the-job training and other support to recently graduated, newly hired registered nurses.
This milestone comes after the city reached a record high for the total number of public and private sector jobs in its history.
