As part of Pride Month, an original musical is being staged in Milford this weekend encouraging audiences to accept and love who they are.
Milford-based Pantochino Productions will present "As Long As We're Talking" at the Milford Arts Council June 24 through 26.
In the show, a young person struggles with his identity, finds advice and friendship over the phone with the customers at an LGBTQ+ bookstore.
The composers say it's not just for an LGBTQ+ audience.
"It's for everyone. Everyone will relate to this in a different way and everyone can see themselves reflected in this collection of characters, what they say, what they sing," says Bert Bernardi, who wrote the lyrics.
"And see strong characters convincing each other that they have this superpower, that they hold the key to their own success and confidence, you just have to take that step," says musical composer Justin Rugg.
Audiences can get tickets at Pantochino Productions' website.
