Residents in Mill Basin rallied Sunday to protest a decision that would move some Sheepshead Bay party boats to the Flatbush Avenue area.
Homeowners along the Mill Basin waterway say they do not want to deal with the numerous issues associated with "booze cruise" boats.
They say the party boats contribute to public drunkenness, fighting, lack of parking and tensions between the boat owners, restaurants and residents.
Residents also say waste from the party boats will be dumped into the water that they swim and kayak in.
Protesters blasted the city for what they call a surprise attack. They say the city did not hold any public hearings or notices before the announcement.
Assemblywoman Jaime Williams says that the city says the action will be temporary and that the boats will eventually move to the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park.
The decision to move the party boats could come on or before Memorial Day weekend and as early as May 1.
News 12 reached out to some of the boat owners scheduled to move to Mill Basin and is waiting to hear back.
