Two teen hikers who had been missing in the woods of Bear Mountain State Park since Thursday have been found safe.

The mother of one of the boys says the two ran into a hiker this morning. 

Officials say the 16-year-old boys are from Brooklyn and were hiking with a Jewish sleepaway camp from Ulster County. The group got separated when four of the boys decided to take a more difficult trail. The four who took the more adventurous trail came out of the woods successfully while the two that took the safer path got lost around 6:30 p.m. 

Park rangers, police and volunteers groups searched overnight for the pair.

The two boys stayed awake all night and they were lucky enough to bump into another hiker this morning and were able to borrow a cellphone. The boy's mother says the missing pair called her husband to say they were safe.

The two teenagers were evaluated on the scene and released to their parents. The boys then decided to go back to their camp group to finish their trip.
