What to know:
The Hudson Valley is officially "in-between" systems, stuck in an unsettled pattern that’s going to keep the region on its toes through the weekend.
The next system moves in overnight, and with temperatures hovering in the low to mid-30s, things could get slick and icy just in time for the Friday morning commute, so you’ll definitely want to give yourself some extra travel time. The Hudson Valley will see a slight warm-up into the upper 30s by Friday afternoon, which should transition that wintry mix into on-and-off rain showers for the rest of the day.
While Saturday looks like the clear winner with dry, seasonable weather and a mix of sun and clouds, things get tricky again heading into Sunday and Monday. The News 12 Storm Watch Team is currently watching a third system with plenty of "if’s" regarding its track as of Thursday evening. The American (GFS) model suggests the storm will hug the coast, potentially bringing several inches of snow and gusty winds. The European model pulls the system further out to sea, which would leave the Hudson Valley with nothing more than a few flurries and a breeze. The News 12 Storm Watch Team will be keeping a close eye on these models as they sync up, so stay tuned.
