Professional baseball player Justin Verlander has decided to donate his paycheck while the season is on hold due to coronavirus.
Verlander and his wife, model Kate Upton, posted a video on Instagram to announce they would be donating the paycheck.
The money will go to help both the health care and economic sides of the crisis.
They added they will also be picking an organization to donate to every week.
Mets pitcher Steven Matz, a Long Island native, also announced $32,000 in donations to New York City hospitals and first responders.
Matz tweeted that he was making three donations to Queens' Elmhurst Hospital, among the hardest hit in the nation by the virus.
