A Planned Parenthood mobile care unit was in Brooklyn Friday helping communities that are at high risk for HIV and AIDS.
Planned Parenthood and a number of its clients are celebrating the more than $400,000 grant from the City Council for the Project Street Beat Unit.
The mobile unit provides easy access to various services for those in need. According to their website, the project's clients include individuals who use intravenous drugs and other substances, are homeless, engage in commercial sex work, or have other circumstances that place them at increased risk.
Street Beat helps about 5,000 people each year.
