A Bronx woman whose son died in a shooting on Mother's Day in Brooklyn pleaded for his killer to turn himself in Tuesday.
"You killed my son, Ramel King, on Mother's Day," she said. "His kids don't have a dad no more. I just want to know why you killed my son. That's what I need to hear from you...please just turn yourself in."
Police say a gunman killed Ramel King, 33, as he sat in his car on May 8, around 2:30 a.m. at Williams Place and Atlantic Avenue.
The NYPD's ShotSpotter gunshot detection tool alerted police to the incident. Police said they arrived in the area and found King with a gunshot wound to the chest. Nearby surveillance video showed the suspected killer walking around the block.
King's mother told News 12 that he was a father of four young children. He also left behind a wife, four brothers, four sisters and 19 nieces and nephews.
