It's national Kicks Butts Day and Montefiore Medical Center is encouraging Bronx smokers to finally kick the bad habit.
The hospital is also marking its one year anniversary since becoming a smoke-free campus. It's celebrating throughout the day by handing out nicotine patches, gum and literature.
Officials are also working to educate kids about the negative effects of tobacco use. They say 90 percent of young people who become smokers try their first cigarette by age 18.
