The mother of a 16-year-old shooting victim says she was devastated to learn that the NYPD officers who shot her son won't be indicted.
Kimani Gray's mother, Carol Gray, held a press conference with former Councilman Charles Barron, saying they are outraged because they believe that police used unreasonable force and denied Gray medical care that could have saved his life.
According to police, Gray was with a group of friends in March 2013 and was stopped by two plainclothes officers along East 52nd Street in East Flatbush because he was acting suspiciously. When officers approached him, they say he pointed a .38 caliber revolver at them, forcing them to fire and hit him several times.
The shooting sparked outrage and numerous protests in the community.
News 12 reached out to the Kings County District Attorney's Office for comment, but has not yet heard back.
