Mount Vernon residents came out front and in full force for their third annual City Fest.
There was a positive vibe in the air on Gramatan Avenue as people celebrated with live music.
Born in North Carolina and raised in Mount Vernon, actor and comedian J.B. Smoove, made an appearance as one of the event's honorees.
"No matter where I live in the world, I'll always be a part of Mount Vernon. This is my roots," Smoove said.
The 56-year-old, best known for his roles in 2019's "Spider-Man: Far From Home" and HBO's blockbuster hit, "Curb Your Enthusiasm", greeted old friends and re-connected with the community he still calls home.
Residents said this year's City Fest was a major success.
Neighbors told News 12 that they can't wait to see how the city tops this event next year.
