Disturbing conditions were found inside a Westchester County funeral home following a state inspection.
The state Attorney General’s Office has released findings from a State Health Department inspection at Camelot Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
Inspectors found 13 bodies in various states of decomposition placed throughout the facility.
Officials also located 17 boxes of cremated remains in the basement.
Camelot Funeral Home’s license has been suspended since last May.
The funeral home’s director, 55-year-old Michael Naughton, has been charged with operating as a funeral director without a license, officials said.
Officials also said more than 20 funerals have been conducted at the facility since last August.
None of the bodies found inside the funeral home had death certificates, according to officials.
