A Mount Vernon man has been indicted for throwing a 12-week-old puppy to its death on a Yonkers roadway, the DA says.
Thaddeus Jones, 34, was indicted on a felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals, according to the Westchester District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities say it happened last May as Jones was in a vehicle with the driver, the driver’s pit bull puppy and two other passengers.
After the driver pulled over to the side of the road, Jones got out of the car, allegedly grabbed the dog and threw it onto Yonkers Avenue.
The puppy was killed by oncoming traffic.
