Mourners gathered Tuesday on Clarendon Road to memorialize a 16-year-old East Flatbush girl who was killed two weeks ago.
Shemel Mercurius died from a gunshot wound moments after a man was recorded on surveillance cameras holding an apparent submachine gun outside her door.
Police say Taariq Stephens, 24, shot and killed the teen while she was baby-sitting her younger cousin in her Flatbush Gardens apartment. They have charged him with second-degree murder.
Mercurius' grieving mother flew in from Guyana for the ceremony and entered the church supported by family members.
The teen will be buried Wednesday morning at the Canarsie Cemetery.
