This is all in-part due to an additional $35 million the MTA received for subway service enhancements from the 2024 state budget.

As subway ridership numbers continue to climb, some changes are on the way for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority this summer.
The MTA announced faster train service in Brooklyn and Queens. Starting in July, riders on the M, J, and G lines should see trains arriving about two minutes earlier.
In August, the MTA will be speeding up weekend service on the 1 and 6 trains, and midday service during the week on the C, N and R lines.
Ridership on the weekend has been recovering from the pandemic faster than weekdays, the agency says.
This is all in part due to an additional $35 million the MTA received for subway service enhancements from the 2024 state budget.
The enhancements also come as the MTA announced it will resume the use of Twitter service alerts after suspending it last week.
