MTA questions 7-percent bonus on MetroCard buys
City transit riders have long enjoyed a 7-percent bonus when buying some MetroCards, but the MTA could put that deal on the next train out.
Officials say they may eliminate or reduce the extra cash added to pay-per-ride cards of at least $10 as a way to keep an upcoming fare hike lower.
The MTA will vote on a final budget in December.
