Some Brooklyn residents could see their daily commute get a bit easier.
The MTA is rolling out new select bus service on the B46 line. The line serves about 46,000 people every day, making it the busiest in Brooklyn.
Instead of dipping MetroCards after boarding the bus, passengers can now pay their fare before the bus arrives at one of the kiosks provided at the stop. The machine vends a ticket that riders bring with them on the bus, and officials say it will ultimately reduce the waiting time for people dipping their MetroCards.
There will be inspectors on board select buses checking to make sure everyone has a ticket.
Those caught trying to get a free ride will be hit with a $100 fine.
