The Metropolitan Transportation Authority on Tuesday announced that April 27, 2019 is the official date for the upcoming L train shutdown.
The work, expected to last 15 months, will see part of the L line shut down so repairs can be made to the Canarsie Tunnel, which was damaged during Superstorm Sandy in 2012.
The MTA and the city DOT staff will have open houses, pop-ups and three mobile information centers to help out riders.
Residents say even with all the outreach, they still feel left in the dark.
Some are opting to leave Williamsburg altogether, while others are planning on adjusting their commutes.
There will be alternative service options for commuters, including additional bus routes and ferry service. There have been overnight and weekend L train closures to prepare the tunnel for the work.
While most pieces are in place, the MTA continues asking for the public's feedback on the plan.
The last train will run on April 26.
