Brooklyn Councilwoman Letitia James rallied Monday to honor the late Michael Jackson by renaming a borough subway station after him.
James' plan, which a Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesman deemed unlikely, is to memorialize the pop star at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station, where he famously recorded the music video for "Bad."
The MTA says its current policy does not allow memorials or plaques to be placed at subway stations. In a statement, the MTA said it is in the process of establishing naming protocol.
James says she is starting a petition to get the station the recognition it deserves.
