The MTA is temporarily suspending its fare enforcement teams following an excessive force investigation in East New York.

The incident was caught on a surveillance camera. The video appears to show a passenger being pushed against a bus shelter by members of the MTA's Eagle Team.

Kyle Taylor says he was getting off the B14 bus on Oct. 6 when officers questioned him about his fare, despite explaining he had used a transfer.

Taylor alleges he was grabbed, punched and slammed by officers.

MTA chair and CEO Janno Lieber wants a closer look at how the program is operating.

“Our Eagle teams won't be reentering the field until I am confident with their training and reporting investigations protocols,” Lieber said.

The advocacy group, Passengers United, is praising the suspension, now calling for reforms to oversight and accountability as investigations continue.
