Multiple
libraries across New York City are partnering with New York Life Foundation to bring thousands of books to kids this summer. New York City Libraries and the New York Life Foundation have teamed up for a Summer Book Giveaway. Books will be given out at select libraries throughout the five boroughs for July, 28 and 29 to
give away 15,000 books.
The initiative is part of the libraries' annual summer reading and learning programs that encourage children and teens to read books. The program is open to all but is specifically aimed at serving low income and asylum-seeking families.
Books for children and teens will be available at select branches on July 28 and 29. Readers can pick up
books to keep at home and sign up for a library card to continue reading all year long as well.
Books will be available in English, Spanish and, in select locations, Chinese.
