Police are trying to track down multiple suspects in connection with a shooting in Tremont Thursday night.
According to cops, a 23-year-old Hispanic man was shot in the arm outside 297 Elsmere Place at around 10:30 p.m. He was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital and is expected to be OK.
Residents say the violence is scary and new for the area, but recent NYPD statistics show felony assault is up nearly 15 percent in the neighborhood this year compared to last.
No arrests have been made, and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
