Midwood is receiving its own street art installation this summer
A new project installed a colorful mural at Edward R. Murrow High School on East 17th Street and Chestnut Avenue. The piece incorporates various landmarks and cultures found throughout the borough, according to the artist who spray-painted the mural over two days.
The artist, Nicolai Khan, says the goal is to inspire the students and bring the community together with vibrant colors.
The mural is the result of a partnership between the school, the Midwood Development Corporation and the nonprofit 501(See)(Streets), according to the school's principal.
The principal says work began after classes were dismissed for the summer, and neither students nor teachers have seen the work yet.
