Activists rallied against alleged NYPD surveillance today in the wake of reports that groups aside from Muslims have been targeted. According to the Associated Press, undercover officers gathered information on 20 different groups from New York and several other cities in 2008. NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly and Mayor Michael Bloomberg have insisted that the measures are only in place to monitor and prevent terrorist activity.
