The Department of Education has rolled out a new website.
The new
website still shares the same name as the former website but features improved access to information, the DOE says.
Officials with the DOE say words on the website have been transcribed at a reading level of between sixth and ninth grade.
They say the change is necessary in order to ensure words make proper sense when translated into different languages.
Among other changes, the 'Find a School' 'Transportation' and 'Lunch Menu' tabs are now all static to the front page of the website.
Officials say the tabs contain important information that is now much easier to navigate.
School in New York City officially begins on Sept. 5.
