Residents say they're ready for the leaves to change color after the autumnal equinox this past weekend.
The website "The Foliage Network," which tracks leaf changes throughout the year, cites warmer September temperatures as being the reason why many trees still have green leaves.
The website also says that once cooler temperatures sweep through, the colors of the leaves will change.
Many fall foliage predictor sites say that two weeks from now will most likely be the peak for leaves changing color in New York.
