Residents in Concourse Village claim loud, large gatherings in the neighborhood have caused them several sleepless nights despite calls to the city for help.
Video shows police dispersing hundreds of people who gathered in the area late Sunday night.
However, residents say the crowds came back 10 minutes later. They say they want a constant police presence in the neighborhood to deter the gatherings.
Residents claim music comes from loud speakers so strong it shakes their windows. They say it doesn't turn off sometimes until 8 a.m. They also say the double parking is so bad that police can't get through the streets.
Neighbors say this has been an issue all throughout last week, not just the weekend.
One woman told News 12 she is afraid to speak up because the crowd is so chaotic.
"My husband always says, 'I'm gonna go,' and I say no because they're shooting and they're stabbing," the woman said. "Then it turns into a big problem or he ends up in the hospital because someone shot him."
Last week, a shooting in Claremont Park left four people injured and one person dead.
In order to avoid any direct conflict, residents say they reported the crowds to 311. Still, they claim nothing has been done to resolve the issue.
News 12 reached out to the NYPD about the disturbance claims and is waiting to hear back.
