In 2021, the Yankees' pitching was up-and-down and only three American league teams committed more errors.
However, they feel they can win this year because they've made the proper improvements: Anthony Rizzo is endorsed at first base, Josh Donaldson mans third, Isaiah Kiner-Falefa as the new shortstop and a full year of Gold Glover Joey Gallo in the outfield.
Aaron Boone has said that this could be the best of his five Yankees teams.
The pitching staff is once again led by Gerrit Cole who pitched poorly in the wild card loss in October, something he's had to live with all off season.
