New York City's Parks Department has unveiled a brand new dog run in Bay Ridge after a $1 million construction project.
The run was named after Frank Decolvenaere, a community member who was killed while walking his dog in 2020.
Organizers say the project transformed an unused asphalt space into a safe and welcoming place for Bay Ridge residents and their canine companions.
The new dog run features new seating, an accessible walkway and water access for all visitors. The site has also been better equipped to handle excess storm water.
