More payment options are being offered to commuters looking for a parking spot in Bensonhurst.
The Department of Transportation has installed 58 credit card muni-meters along 86th Street in an effort to transform the busy shopping community.
The new meters replace traditional meters that had formerly lined the streets and are located between Bay 14th Street and 21st Avenue.
DOT officials say more cars can now fit in the parking spots than previously before. Similar muni-meters have already been installed in other areas such as Canal Street in Chinatown.
Some residents find the new meters inconvenient, as one must return to the car and place a parking receipt inside to avoid being ticketed.
