A group of teen artists are the creators of a new Bushwick mural that aims to inspire young men of color on their value and rights.
Located on Manhattan Avenue, "The Fall of Oppression" was created by teenagers alongside professional artist Raul Ayala over the course of the summer.
The mural takes up an entire wall, and was brought to life with help from a local supermarket food bazaar.
The teens that worked with Ayala were chosen from the Groundswell Summer Leadership Institute, a local youth mentoring program.
While their work tackles the subject of race, the artists say they do not want to be divisive and instead aim to uplift the community as a whole.
