A new public awareness campaign is encouraging stores to let customers know they don't discriminate.
The campaign by the NYC Commission on Human Rights is asking stores to post signs in their windows that read "We don't discriminate, if you are buying we are selling."
The signs are an effort to stop store owners from discriminating against customers based on race, religion or sexual orientation.
News 12 spoke with Charlie Sahadi, owner of Sahadi's supermarket, who says he is happy to place the sign on his store.
