The second ferry stop in the Bronx is now officially open, with boats ready to take New Yorkers to Midtown in under 40 minutes.
The Throgs Neck Ferry Point Park stop is now open and you can take a ride for $2.75.
While the ferry program has been servicing the city for five years, Soundview was the only stop in the Bronx, until now.
The new landing was announced back in 2019 and is an extension of the Soundview line. Developers say the project was slightly delayed because of COVID-19 but was still completed by their 2021 deadline.
There’s a free parking lot outside of the park and a shuttle to bring passengers from the lot through the park and to the ferry landing.
Those who want to bring a bike on the ferry must pay $1. Officials say there will be bike racks soon.
The ferry will be making a stop every day of the year from around 5 a.m. to 8 or 9 p.m.
