New legislation allows voters more time to register their votes in NY

Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a bill Friday that reduces the registration deadline from 25 days to 10 days prior to Election Day.

Voters will now have more time to register and vote ahead of an election in New York.
Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a bill Friday that reduces the registration deadline from 25 days to 10 days prior to Election Day.
Voters will be eligible to vote in an election if they register in person by 10 days prior to an election.
Voters who mail in registration forms need to have it postmarked 15 days prior to the election and arrive at the Board of Elections within 10 days prior to an election.
