To create life-changing wishes for children with critical illness is the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s motto. On Wednesday, News 12 got to witness a celebration of resilience, wish kids and of New York City.
The foundation gathered with the Lisa Project NYC outside of Brookdale Hospital to unveil what they called the “brainchild.” It is a mural aimed at brightening the days of all who pass it.
"I really wanted to have a splash of color on the side of the building to reflect the hope and the joy that we wanted to really impact on our patients who were suffering,” said Sandra Scott, executive director at Brookdale Hospital.
The main colors incorporated throughout the mural are the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s signature colors.
Parts of the mural refer to wishes made by real kids involving astronauts, football players and mermaids.
