A new prescription law set to take effect in New York Thursday is causing confusion for some and upsetting others.
Under the law, patients receiving prescriptions by mail-order will have the ability to pick up their medications at a local pharmacy for the same exact co-pay.
Those covered under union policies such as EPIC, UFT and 1199 aren't covered.
Other changes include changes for patients under Medicaid.
Bills will now be paid for by outside managed-care organizations, leaving many to pay for the drugs up front and wait for reimbursement.
