Bronx high school students who are looking to get their hands dirty this summer can apply for a brand new program that will offer college credit and an hourly wage.
'Green Jobs for Youth' is a seven-week program partly modeled after Wave Hills? 'Forest Project.' Program Director Paulina Mohamed says students will spend four days a week working throughout Van Cortlandt Park doing everything from tree planting to trail work.
The students will spend the fifth day in class. To qualify, students must have completed 10th grade and two regents-level science courses with a 'B' or better by last December. The students must also have at least an 80 overall average and meet 'STEP' eligibility guidelines.
Mohamed says applications must be postmarked by this Friday.
