Twenty-three percent of Brooklyn residents are living below the poverty line, according to a new report released today by The Food Bank for New York City.
The results also show that 34 percent of Brooklyn residents are having trouble putting food on the table.
According to the report, the biggest jump was those with college and graduate degrees, with a 25-percent and 11-percent increase, respectively.
And 17 percent of Brooklyn residents say that when faced with a choice, they've paid their rent instead of paying for food.
The Food Bank for New York City collected information on the hunger rate in all five boroughs for the report.
