New rides have been unveiled at Coney Island, ahead of the unofficial start of the summer season.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Borough President Marty Markowitz were in Coney Island to celebrate the beach opening and the two new thrill rides.
"Boardwalk Flight" and "Coney Island Raceway" are set to open for the first time on Saturday, along with all of the city beaches.
All amusements will begin operating seven days a week until Labor Day.
The mayor announced the Coney Island revitalization project has created thousands of jobs and will help boost tourism.
