Brooklyn businesses have one week left to get in line with New York City’s new trash rules.
Another phase of Mayor Eric Adams’ plan to get trash and rats off the street goes into effect on March 1.
Chain businesses and those dealing with food are currently required to put trash out in covered bins. However, all businesses will be required to do the same starting next Friday.
The Adams administration hopes it will alleviate the rat crisis, make the streets safer and more sanitary.
Adams has called the effort the most "significant progress toward clean streets that New Yorkers have seen in generations".
