New York Cares, one of the biggest volunteer organizations in New York City, is recruiting Brooklyn residents for outdoor projects around the borough.
The group's current project is taking place at Fort Greene Park, where volunteers are cleaning out crab grass and weeds to prepare the site for the perennials that will be planted this summer.
New York Cares is hoping to recruit more volunteers to help with their educational opportunities in the fall.
The nonprofit says it hosts approximately 1,500 projects each month.
