Well, thousands showed up and showed out to celebrate this historic championship win of the New York Liberty. It was a sea of sea foam green and news 12 Nadia Galindo was there to give you a front row seat. They came from far and wide to see the stars that brought New York City its first W NBA championship in franchise history. Thousands lined Broadway for the ticker tape parade. The first for a local sports team since 2012, just ecstatic that we're here today. Brianna Stewart taking a victory lap to high five fans. Sabrina Unes taking in the glory and the finals. MVP herself, Quell Jones showing love to this ferocious fan base. The Liberty ending with the best record in the league. This has more people than ever. Now watching the W NBA, it gets long overdue fans in the seats. More men have come to the games. Families thrilled that they went from, you know, playing in front of 1000 people to 18,000 in five years and one group that showed up in force, a generation of girls, they are really good and I really like them who have cheered this team on all season long, Courtney Vander, Sabrina Ne Stewart filling seen and represented. I think that it's really nice because like a girls team gets to have something big in the city where it's mostly all the boys teams, the parade ending at City Hall where the mayor gave the team, the key to the city. This trophy was earned by the blood, sweat and tears of these women on the stage and a celebration like this requires a lot of confetti 2000 pounds of it, which is a big job to clean up New York City.
